When you are working in your own business something we all need is time. When starting out we have so much to do and yet it seems very little time to do things. Question is are you prepared to sacrifice things to make time to do what you need to do so that you can have more time to enjoy your success later on? Sacrificing some leisure time NOW and using that time to work on your business will be the key to having a great future and more time to enjoy the fruits of your labour in the time to come.
When you have your own business, whether you have employees or not, it’s important that you have the belief and confidence to succeed. Confidence is key to any or all of your business building efforts because when you have confidence in what you do then you have the capability to do anything! Belief and confidence are very closely linked. So much so that if you don’t have the belief that you can achieve something, then deep down you don’t have the confidence to do it!

There are specific leadership skills that are needed in business, but are these universal? When in a corporate type of environment or manager of a team of people who are responsible to you for their performance in the work place, you lead the team towards specific tasks and tell these people what is required of them and then make sure that it’s done. This may be a simple analogy and there are more skills to effective leadership than that of course. Are these basics true of every kind of business?
As you go through your home business journey, one of the most important things for you to take into consideration is your own dedication to self growth. In order to determine where you are and how you can improve your situation, you need to take some self reflection and see exactly where you are in the overall scheme of things.
Whatever the reason you have for starting a home business, the basic foundations will be the same. That will mean you need to learn new skills and therefore you need to be teachable. Getting into a home business is a decision that most people make because they see this as a real chance to achieve a dream lifestyle. The thing that makes this business so attractive is the ordinary people achieving extraordinary things.
The mistake a lot of people make, including me, is that they don’t have a crystal clear vision of where they want to be when they START in their business. Yes, they have an ambition and a desire, but is this enough? Decide to be a masterpiece in your own world by having a clear vision on what you want and stop just fumbling around for long periods trying to make things happen without a canvas in your life that has the foundation of a masterpiece as the outcome of your efforts.
Whether you’re just starting out, or even if you’re already “into” your business, have you ever thought of how much of a difference “one more thing” done each day will make? If you don’t like making calls for instance and you get through that barrier and start making calls, if you were to make one more call every day how many calls could you make before you reach your maximum? Personal trainers look for doing one more of something to find the maximum level achievable and then repetition of that level leads to better results and adopting this attitude to business will increase results and benefits for that business.
One of the top marketers in the home business world, Diane Hochman says “curiosity creates the click”, which is very true. If you can write a headline that has “peaked my curiosity”, you will be well on the way to getting the click to read your post, email or even get the opt in to your email list. The opt in, the reading of your content or getting the sales page viewed is the outcome of any headline.
One thing every business owner is looking for is leads, whether it’s for sales, a business opportunity or anything else. There is a massive bonus to any business if you can generate leads for free. Although paid advertising will help you to build a list quickly, you can still get yourself free leads as long as you have a great offer and a way to grab a person’s curiosity so they can’t help but opt in to your list.
Before you go away, PLEASE DON’T! I’m not talking about having a selfish attitude. You still work for the enrichment of others too, but when offered a window of opportunity, do you jump in and do whatever it takes so in effect you are saying “I WILL NOT BE DENIED!” Or… are the type of person who will be shown a new opportunity (business) and says, “ok, I’ll try it out for 90 days (or whatever time scale you feel right for you)”? Wrong attitude my friend!
