I know, a gambler IS a risk taker. There is a different way to look at things though. Are you one of the many thousands of people who have the opinion that the only way to get rich is to win the lottery? The odds on winning the lottery are so high that it truly is a gamble rather than a risk. You will spend so much money every week and the odds against are so great that you will never be likely to win. In fact the likelihood is you will lose a lot.
A lot of us will know the parable of the Good Samaritan and the meaning behind the story. I wonder if there is a Good Samaritan definition for those of us in business too. For those who are not as familiar with the ethic behind the story, basically the Jews and Samaritans didn’t get on (sound familiar?) and a Priest and Levite left a poor injured man alone to suffer, but a Samaritan helped him in spite of his race or creed.
In the last few years it’s been more evident that marketing is changing. Network marketing has had a bad reputation, mainly because of the publicity rather than it being a bad business model. There is a difference of opinion that is changing things that leads to the question what is attraction and why are marketers working more with attraction in mind?
The most important thing to be seen as a master recruiter is that you are authentic. Be true to yourself and show yourself to be attractive to a prospect by indicating your desire to help THEM to be successful. Be real and avoid hyping up things to get the sign up “at all costs”. Money is a part of business, but it shouldn’t be evident that it’s the most important thing when you are recruiting into your business. Remember it’s all about the prospect FIRST!
Yes I know, I do keep on about giving value and being generous with your time, but you mustn’t forget that you’re in business. Your time is valuable and there comes a point where people who follow you have to acknowledge that. The time I’m talking about is the time for personal consultations. People must realize that there is a price for your valuable time to help them to get success with a particular area that you’re an expert in. You don’t expect a solicitor to “give away” time when you want them to look after your legal stuff do you? There’s no difference with your time and expertise either!
In these days of internet marketing, there is so much free stuff and giveaways around we don’t know where to look next. There are so many items of value and yet there are some that are not of the same value because they are designed to get a person’s details only. The more value is offered, the more generosity is given.
When you post your content on the internet, whether it’s on a blog, on social media, on video or just as an advertisement, it’s sometimes the things you don’t say that are the most important. As a marketer it’s your job to trigger curiosity in your prospect and get their “nosey” gene to react to come to find out more about you.
Everybody has different thoughts on attitude, and the way you actually think can change your attitude. I have been aware of a change in some people’s attitude when they are told a story that triggers and imaginary and emotional response from them based on what they are told. There are many people who have negative thoughts about very positive things and also people who have an imagination based thought process that put them off things. These attitudes generally have a detrimental effect on the outcome that should be accepted based on truth rather than assumption. Is everything as bad as we make it out to be?
