When you’re starting out in your business online, it’s very easy to get burdened with too many things. This can lead to overwhelm and confusion, which is something that we all need to avoid. One great way to make sure you progress and deal with this is make sure that, out of the many marketing methods there are out there, you choose just ONE and get good at it and become a true expert in that method.
I have a story to tell. There was a time when the importance of personal development for me was zero. I believed that it was all a load of rubbish and that all we had to do was to carry on as we had been taught and trained and life would pan out anyway. How wrong I was! Since I have worked on myself, the importance of personal development has become more evident every day.
It doesn’t really matter what business you’re in, you can’t make it alone. Teamwork skills are vital to any kind of business, whether traditional or internet business. When working from home you may believe that you need to do everything for yourself, NOT true. Teamwork skills, if anything, are MORE vital for you when you work at home. You will find more security in your mind when you have the knowledge that you’re not alone!
What you give is what you get, give and you will receive or any other analogy of the same thing is completely relevant to where we are today. I don’t know if you’re religious or not, but with it being in the Pentecost Season in UK, it’s all about gifts and giving. The gift that God gave on this day according to all Christian belief is of the Holy Spirit. This made me think about how much online business is based around gifts and giving. It doesn’t matter what your religion, the principle of what I’m going to discuss is the same. That’s to give FREELY.
There are so many of us who have struggled at some time in our lives, some who are still struggling. Even though things may be difficult, we can make lifestyle choices that will set our mind into a better position and help us progress in life and business.
This may be something you have seen or heard before, but it’s always useful to keep it in mind:
Ask as if and go as though…………….
(Ask as if you expect to have what you want and go as though you already have it!)
This sets your mind towards more abundance and more positive thoughts, ensuring you are in a better place to work and make progress.
It doesn’t matter what business you choose to do, the important thing for you is that you trust the business you are working in and believe you can do it! If you have faith and passion in your choice of business then as long as you have that belief that you can do it and be successful you are going to see results.
When working in a home based business there are initially two things that are serious enough to really hold you back:
- Fear – where you are afraid about getting out there and making things happen. However trivial this may seem it’s real to the person who is experiencing this. And….
- Belief – Where you may doubt what you do based mostly (in my experience) on other people’s reaction to what you’re doing and the way this “doubt” eats away at you.
These things are either self inflicted in some ways or from the “opinions” of others who tell you to be careful or to forget it all together because “so and so” tried it and failed.
As you progress through your marketing and you grow your list, it’s inevitable that you will get some people who will send you emails that will criticize and also be downright hurtful! Are you tough enough to take this kind of mail? It will be quite a daunting prospect to many of us, but you should also be advised that these things happen and you do need to accept it.
Simple answer to this – when you work from home it’s your job to persuade people to give you their email so you can correspond with them in order to build the relationship and create sales and / or signups for your opportunity. Reciprocation is the person parting with their information and giving their permission for you to contact them.
