With all the distractions around these days, it’s too easy to lose focus on what you have to do or complete your tasks on time. There are times when life seems to “get in the way”. Then the negative factors kick in. There’s not enough time. I am working too hard with no end in sight. I Can’t DO IT!!!
I can relate to this a lot recently. I do quite a lot of things anyway, but recently there have been weddings for 2 of my sons and my mother fell and broke her hip. This led to me going to the hospital nearly every day as well as helping to care for my elderly father. Don’t get me wrong, these things I NEED to do, but when you’re focused on getting business stuff done, these distractions are a real Continue reading
There is no time like the present is there? If you’re learning new skills in your business to help you progress, it’s vital that you take action today on what you learn. This enables you to find out more about what you have learned by experience. Too many times people have committed to learning new skills, but keep waiting for the time they’re more familiar with the task before they actually DO anything. How can this work? You really need to know what works NOW, not after 3 weeks of learning. Test what you learn by taking action on the things you have learned.
Taking action right away will help you know you’re doing things correctly, or whether you need to look at the procedure again. There may be times when you need to readdress or “tweak” things to suit your own particular style. Either way, Continue reading
Many of us have been in a situation where you have a good idea what must be done, but can’t do it. You know it’s the right thing to do, but you can’t move. We all know that Action speaks louder than words, so why do we let ourselves get stuck?
Horrible feeling and position to be in – STUCK!!
You keep going over and over things in your head, but even then don’t do anything about it. You have the belief that everything will work out. Somehow life will just magically work it out for you. Then, whatever the Continue reading

They say “It takes two to tango”. Well, it also takes at least two to argue. It’s not possible to have an argument with someone if there is no reaction. My advice is don’t argue. If you need to find solutions to create a win/win outcome, then arguing isn’t going to serve you. The best way to reach a reasonable and acceptable outcome is to ask questions.
In coaching it’s normal to encourage people to ask questions so the other person can hear the potential solution in their own words. It’s said that coaches don’t ask questions to hear the answer themselves, but Continue reading
Among the various roads we follow, we could find a road that leads to a life of single blessedness, marriage, and religious vocation. Then there is a road that leads to fame and fortune on one hand, or isolation and poverty on the other. Moreover, there are Continue reading
When we think of successful selling, many think of making a sale of an item or service “at all costs”, but the word “sell” originates from a Norwegian word that actually means to “SERVE”. With this being the case, it’s more about service than selling. There are six main steps to selling successfully and each has its place and the sequence should really be adhered to so as to complete the process.
In this post I will talk about step 1, which is based on rapport. Rapport is Continue reading
It’s far too easy to get “bogged down” with things and distracted when you have your own business. There is also the tendency, especially with online business things, to assume that something “doesn’t work”. Instead of just getting on with the job and finding out by taking action, the assumption is enough to stop the person from doing what is necessary.
It’s what you do when nobody is looking that matters. You Continue reading
I was browsing through one site looking for ideas for a blog post. I came across a student who was reaching the end of his studies and who had just one year left making it clear that “he was scared of the future”. WHY?
Because of the reaction he was getting to his work! Outside influences were the issues that were making him think he wasn’t good enough. What could he do to make this change?
I believe there are Continue reading
